Design and Copyright Protection
If you have an industrial design or product design that you wish to protect, IP Bureau can help provide sound advice on all aspects of copyright protection and enforcement of all industrial design rights.
What is the difference between design rights and copyright?
Design Rights
Businesses require design rights when the appearance of the product is of utmost importance to them. By registering a design, you will protect the external outlook of the product and this includes the shape, configuration, pattern or ornament of an item. These rights usually apply to designs for industrial use.
Copyright
Copyright protection comes into play when you have musical, literary, drama and artistic work. This includes computer software, photographs and engineering drawings.
